Deck Plans, Activities & Sailings

newest carnival cruise ship

The original Mardi Gras was originally launched as a transatlantic passenger ship called Empress of Canada in 1960 before being acquired by Carnival. In 1993, the ship left the Carnival fleet and had several name changes before being scrapped in 2003. The ship sails out of Brisbane, Australia in the winter, offering South Pacific itineraries and out of Seattle in the summer, offering Alaska cruises. The ride enables guests to soar 187 feet above the sea and reach speeds of 40 MPH on two-person, motorcycle-style open cars.

Balcony Staterooms

In the camp inspired-space, kids play games, participate in sing-alongs, have dance parties, do arts and crafts, play video games, and more. Parents don’t even have to worry about picking their kids up at mealtime if their littles want to stay — meals are served to kids through Camp Ocean as well. These include in the adults-only Serenity Retreat on deck 18 forward, on deck 16 midship and aft, and on deck 8 aft.

Ways Cruise Passengers Get the Crew in Trouble

But you could easily forget, because when you're at Serenity you could not be further from it all. The world you'll find yourself in is one of complete peace, sea breezes and, of course, a nearby bar. It's the place to get done the kind of stuff you just can't seem to do anywhere else — reconnect with your partner, finish that book, or do absolutely, blissfully, nothing at all. Carnival's Excel class is the newest of the line's nine classes, comprising Mardi Gras (2021), Carnival Celebration (2022) and Carnival Jubilee, which is set to begin sailing for the line in late 2023. She has worked in the cruise industry since 2015 and has taken over 30 cruises. Now, she helps over 1 million people per month to plan their perfect cruise holidays.

Speaking of which, our walls are adorned with old snapshots from our officers’ family albums, proving that the rustic Italian-farmhouse atmosphere definitely isn’t for show. To find uncharted flavors, never before seen on land, we had to dive deep. Far below the waves we met a mermaid who swims the depths of the oceans to find the long-lost treasures of ancient civilizations. You’ve gotta trust us… or you can join us at The Golden Mermaid™, where amazing drinks are just the beginning. Cocktail recipes inspired by precious metals and gemstones, drinks served in exquisite glassware, plus garnishes like edible glitter to remind you of sunlight streaming through the waves from up above!

If you're a U.S. citizen on a cruise that starts and ends in a U.S. port, you'll need a current passport or an official copy of your birth certificate and a driver's license or other government-issued photo identification to sail. A few other forms of identification, such as a passport card, also are acceptable. At the time of publication, prices started from $709 per person ($101 per person per night) for an inside cabin or $919 per person ($131 per person per night) for balcony accommodations.

Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse Brewhouse

It's tied with Carnival Celebration for the title of the largest ship in Carnival's fleet. Here's the rundown on what you can expect on board so you can determine if Carnival Jubilee is right for your next sailing. Carnival Celebration had people talking before they even got their first look. Carnival Celebration® wouldn’t be complete without a place for you to settle in and recharge after a long day’s fun. Carnival Celebration® has its own Punchliner Comedy Club in the Celebration Central zone, and up on stage you’ll find some real pros who know how to wedge a little laughter into anyone’s evening.

BBQ, so we're building a Guy's Pig & Anchor Smokehouse | Brewhouse into this zone so it always tastes like summer here with freshly-smoked faves designed by Guy Fieri and original Parched Pig® beers brewed just feet away. If you're wondering where the pool and whirlpool are, we're so alike, you and us... And that's why we're sure you're gonna love The Watering Hole, a poolside bar we're building for aficionados of backyard-style relaxation.

Whatever you do, don't miss Coastal Slice, which serves free and delicious pizza. For example, the pool deck, with its citrusy color scheme and vintage smokestack design, is like something straight out of the '70s. After pausing operations during the pandemic, Carnival first set sail out of Florida and Texas in July 2021 with fully vaccinated passengers. In August of the same year, the cruise line started requiring unvaccinated guests who were granted a medical exemption to provide a doctor's note ahead of embarking on a cruise. "This beautiful, innovative ship will bring an entirely new cruise experience to our guests, and we've got some great surprises to fun it up in ways we know they are going to love."

They feature Havana-branded towels and bathrobes and a tropical color scheme. Havana Cabana cabins have private outdoor patio areas that are similar to balconies but instead of having views of the ocean, they face a public walkway in front of the ocean. A seven-day Eastern Caribbean cruise departing from Miami on Feb. 5, 2023, starts at $479 per person based on double occupancy, according to Carnival's website, though prices vary by itinerary, stateroom, and other factors. The fare includes most food, beverages such as iced tea and regular coffee, and more.

Deck 7 on the second story of the Grand Central atrium just off the casino is the Grand View Bar — aptly named for its location next to the atrium’s massive floor-to-ceiling windows. The Limelight Lounge — a space that hosts various activities — has its own bar, with the popular Pharmacy-inspired Alchemy Bar also nearby. These cabins have a nautical flag motif and include one free Night Owls evening at Camp Ocean.

No Carnival sailing would be complete for a carnivore without a visit to Fahrenheit 555, the onboard steakhouse. On Carnival Jubilee, it's adorned in neutral tans, dark browns and red tones. Shaq's Big Chicken, a restaurant backed by basketball great Shaquille O'Neal (who is also Carnival's CFO, chief fun officer), is perfect if you have a hankering for some fried chicken. In addition to chicken strips, sandwiches and fries, the counter-service venue also serves breakfast. Do yourself a favor and try the chicken and biscuit combo with fries.

Previously known as Costa Firenze, this is also a Vista-class ship, and a sister ship to Costa Venezia, which will have joined the Carnival fleet a year prior. Both of these ships are retaining their Costa funnels and a will have modified hull art as a nod to their Italian roots and unique style. Those looking for a fun workout in a group setting can partake in fitness classes such as yoga, pilates, indoor cycling, and boot camp.

Dinner reservations are recommended for many eateries, even the main dining rooms. You can make them by visiting your restaurant of choice or by using the HUB app. If you don't make one, you might find yourself waiting 20 minutes or more for a table at peak times. If you make a reservation through the app, you'll receive a notification to report to the host stand when your table is ready. Ambulatory-accessible rooms provide accommodations for people who walk with the help of assistive devices like canes or walkers. The first couple had to do with differences between the Carnival HUB app and the daily Fun Times printed schedule.
